I’m a person in recovery from drug addiction. The start of my recovery started a few years ago, as many peoples’ do, in a 30-day rehab facility.
After checking in to this facility filling in the paperwork, and being shown to my room I met a guy who would be my roommate for the next 30 days. He was Latino/Hispanic?
The next day I took part in small group activities, most of which involved sitting in a circle. Looking around I saw only white faces. At mealtimes, all the patients came together. Still only white faces.
